Lancashire Mental Health Commissioning Network
The LTSC
The LTSC is freely open to Third Sector agencies involved in the provision of Mental Health and / or social care within Lancashire. The membership currently stands at 14 different agencies and is expected to grow during 2009. The existing members are identified on the right of the screen.
The LTSC Objectives
The specific objectives of the partnership behind the LTSC are to:
• Provide a forum to share best practice and experiences.
• Provide joint training opportunities.
• Strengthen the relationships with commissioners.
• Raise awareness of the services provided by the third sector.
• Successfully tender for work as a Consortium.
• Promote a preferred pool of service providers.
• Meaningfully engage service users and carers.
Benefits of Collaboration
As a Consortium the benefits of collaboration are seen as:
• Providing an improved and wider range of services for service users.
• Being able to present an efficient and professional image to
funding bodies with a stronger, united voice.
• Providing smaller agencies access to work that they would not
normally feel able to tender for.
• Providing larger agencies access to better community
intelligence and local providers.
• Providing access to new and additional expertise within the partner
agencies and the potential to capacity build.
• Enabling knowledge and information sharing.
• Proving the potential for the reduction in service duplication and
the consequent PR opportunities around this.
• Enabling the better use of resources by allowing individual agencies to
concentrate on their 'specialism' and not digress into extra activities.
• Enabling risk sharing.
• The ability to form a collective group of service users and carers
who represent the breadth of Lancashire's mental health needs.

LTSC meetings are held every two months at rotating venues around our member sites. If you wish to attend one of the meetings as an observer to learn more or perhaps as a precursor to submitting an application form please contact Katharine Wykes on 07884 295 399.
